ABOUT
Amanda is an emerging artist based in Cairns. She has a Diploma in Visual Arts, a Bachelor in Mass Communication and a Graduate Diploma in Journalism.
Her work has been selected for various exhibitions, competitions and art prizes around Australia. Amanda’s artwork is held in private collections all over the world.
Her art practice is eclectic and multifaceted, using many different mediums. She specialises in acrylic paint carving. This unique technique is only practised by a few artists worldwide. It is a combination of painting and printmaking techniques, with up to 100 layers of acrylic paint applied and then carved to reveal what’s underneath.
Amanda’s current art practice focuses on exploring her inner self and using art as a way of understanding herself and the world at large.
